SAD 6 2017 Budget Presentation This Thursday

SAD 6 Superintendent Paul Penna and Business Manager Bill Brockman will be on hand at the selectmen's meeting this Thursday at 7:00 pm.They will be discussing the school budget and any issues any resident may wish to bring up. Everyone is encouraged to attend and get updated on SAD 6 finances. The school assesment makes up nearly three quarters of your tax bill.

VET CENTER COMMUNITY MEETINGS COMING SOON

Veterans are advised that the Veteran's Administration Vet Center will be holding two open house style community meetings at the Old Town Hall (Cape Road & Sokokis Avenue). The meetings will take place on April 21 and May 19 between the hours of 10:00 am and 2:30 pm.

These meetings provide veterans with an opportunity to learn what services and resources are available to them from the Vet Center, their community and the State, and to answer any questions they might have regarding their benefits or any other concerns. FMI: 1-877-927-8387.

Committee Openings

The Town of Limington is looking for someone to serve on the Planning Board, the Financial Advisory Committee, Old Town Hall Preservation Committee and Limington Youth League. Volunteers are also needed to form a committee for the celebration of Limington's quasquibicentennial this year (225 years). Please call us up and get involved!

Need General Assistance?

General Assistance

The hours for the General Assistance Office are Tuesdays 3:00P.M.- 5:00P.M. An application may be picked up at the Town Clerks office during regular business hours. The application must be filled out and signed before meeting with the GA Administrator. Also be prepared to show proof of income (pay stubs, Social Security/disability, unemployment, etc.) for everyone in the household and receipts of how all income was spent (heating, electricity, rent, food, prescriptions, telephone, cable, internet, pet expenses, alcohol and tobacco expenses, etc.) If you prefer you may download and print the application located here.

Ambulance Insurance Available

Limington residents are advised to take advantage of the subscription agreement made available by the EMS. Although nobody wants to think about a trip to the hospital, an ambulance run can easily run up to $1,000. Even if you have insurance, it might only cover part of the cost. A small cash outlay right now can buy a lot of peace of mind.

This years' coverage runs from april 1st (unless you sign up later than that date), through March 31st 2018, so it is advisable to secure coverage as soon as possible.
